You Don’t Need More Information

You Need More Action

We live in a world that convinces us that the next breakthrough is just one more piece of information away. One more article, podcast, masterclass, strategy, expert, or deep dive in some crazy research paper… and only when we finally find it will there ever be an opportunity to take action.

But if you’re like I used to be, you’ve already read plenty. In fact, all you’ve done for years is take in more information because you’re too damn scared of failing, again!

You know what mindful eating is.
You know the basics of habit change.
You know why all-or-nothing thinking doesn’t work.

It’s exhausting how much you know at this point, honestly. And it’s because knowledge isn’t your problem… Taking action is.

The Trap of Passive Action

There’s a hidden comfort in constantly learning, and I wasn’t immune to it either. It felt familiar, productive, safe, and supportive. It does exactly what it’s meant to…

But, it doesn’t force you to take the next step. It doesn’t tell you that if you’re only learning and never applying that information, you’re just going to keep spinning your wheels in place!

This is what we call passive action, the consumption of more information consistently, which gives us the illusion of progress. If we learn more then we’re growing, right?!

However, there’s only so much one can learn without it actually requiring change.

So, we hold ourselves back from change because it’s scary, stressful, and unknown. Our brains feel this kind of energy heavily and they struggle to leap into things they fear, which is why we stick with what’s familiar. But, the “easy” stuff that we are used to doesn’t shift our reality like we want it to.

There is a fear of getting it wrong: It feels safer to "prepare more" than risk making a mistake.
There is a desire for perfectionism: You tell yourself, “I’ll start when I know everything.”
There is a heavy cloud of doubt: You wonder, “Will it even work for me?” so you keep searching for proof.

And I won’t day I don’t get it…

But at some point, you have to call it for what it is… Stalling!

And that’s not because you’re lazy or lack initiative. It’s because stepping into action means stepping into uncertainty, and uncertainty is pretty terrifying.

So, We Start Where You Are

Like we already discussed, you have more than enough information. And now, it’s about trusting yourself enough to use it!

And that starts with one simple question: “What’s one small thing I could actually do today?”

Not one thing you can read about.
Not one thing you can research more.
Something you can physically do.

It doesn’t have to be overwhelming or overstimulating. And it sure as hell doesn’t have to be nine small things because one just “isn’t enough”.

If can be pausing once before a meal to check in with your hunger, journaling for five minutes about your relationship with food, or simply just letting yourself eat something you love without guilt (even if it’s just one bite).

Small actions compound into big transformations, I promise. But, only if you start!

So, this week I encourage you to reflect by asking yourself, "Where in my life am I stuck in passive action and what’s one tiny, realistic way I can step into true action this week?"

A Friendly Reminder

You don’t need another guide, perfect plan, or more information. You need to trust that you already know enough to begin because you do!

Your next breakthrough isn’t hidden in another book or blog post. It’s in the small brave steps you choose to take today and every day to come. You’ve got this. And you’re so much closer than you think! But if you have any questions, you can email me at info.khhllc@gmail.com.
